Sustainable Solutions are following the Big Plastic Count this year. From 9–15 March (supported by Greenpeace and many other major organisations) we will count our plastic. The Big Count tells us how much plastic is being wasted each week in our homes, businesses and schools and highlights the simple things we can do to avoid so much of it entering the environment (being Plastic Clever). The last plastic count (2024) revealed 1.7 billion pieces of plastic packaging was still being thrown away by households weekly!
Like other citizen science projects – the more people who count, the better our data, the greater the evidence we’ll have to push for change!
Sign up, fill in the record sheet (example below of what to include in data) and submit the results (by 22nd March). .
